Private Lives [Noel Coward]

Tempestuous divorced couple Amanda and Elyot meet again while on their second honeymoons.

Noel Coward's intimate comedy of manners opened on the London stage in 1930, after touring the provinces.

'The Master' wrote that Private Lives was 'conceived in Tokyo, written in Shanghai, and produced in London in September 1930.'

Coward reported that 'a gratifying number of respectable people queued up at the box office.' They have been doing so ever since.
