Pleistocene Park

Adam Fowler investigates an extraordinary scientific experiment in Siberia.
Since 1989, Russian biologist Sergey Zimov has been trying to recreate a landscape not seen for nearly 10,000 years, a fully-fledged ice-age ecosystem. The reserve of meadows, forests and willow shrublands in the Kolyama River Basin is gradually becoming home to a new generation of mammals not seen in these parts for thousands of years. Zimov's aim is to discover man's impact on the planet.
