The Year That Changed Our Lives | 20201228 |
Fresh from his incredible 24 hour Workout for Children In Need, the Body Coach Joe Wicks looks back at the positive, generous and life affirming people and events that changed our lives in 2020.
Joe is the self-proclaimed Captain Serotonin, who made lockdown more bearable for all of us with his PE With Joe phenomena. He was described by Richie Anderson on Radio 2, the morning after he helped raise more than 2.5 million pounds for Children In Need, as “a shining light in a tough year. ? Joe also achieved one of his life goals by being invited to be a guest on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs in 2020.
In this Radio 2 special Joe talks to Jamie Oliver, who went back to basic ingredients to create new recipes from supermarket shelves and Tim Burgess, of The Charlatans, who launched a Twitter Album Listening Party at 10pm, to take our minds off the TV news, with anecdotes from members of New Order, Blur, Oasis and Kylie. Joe also hears from Jay Flynn – who not only broke world records and captivated Radio 2 breakfast with his Virtual Pub Quiz, but will also be joining Joe himself at Buckingham Palace, in the future, to receive an MBE.
Joe will also hear from Melanie C who has released an album in lockdown, astronaut Tim Peake, who published his autobiography this year, taking us as close as possible to understanding what it's like to be in space, plus his friend ‘Homeland' star David Harewood, about how they all got through 2020.
Joe's guests may also turn the tables on Joe to find out exactly how exciting PE With Joe was and how he got through a 24 hour marathon without appearing to flag for a second.
