Black and mixed race boys of African Caribbean origin are among the lowest achieving groups in our school system. Dr Tony Sewell has spent years studying academic performance in boys. In 2005 he decided to take radical action.
He combed the country for ten of the brightest black and mixed race boys he could find and then took them to the University of the West Indies for a month. They then returned to act as ambassadors and catalysts for change amongst their peers. He calls this scheme Generating Genius.
