Edgar Wallace's famous theatre play is about gangster life in 1930s Chicago during Prohibition. Big Shot, Tony Perelli runs a drinks racket as well as a women racket. He plays the organ in his Chicago home which is, he boasts, just like the Doge's Palace in Venice. Mike Feeney runs another gang in town.
But Detective-Commissioner John Kelly, Chief of Police is after Perelli - and if he catches him, he wants to watch him hang for murder.
