Thank You For The Music - A Celebration Of The Music Of Abba

How many people remember Abba winning the Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo back in 1974? How many of you can hum an Abba song, have been to the stage show, or watched the film of Mamma Mia? The music of Abba has become a part of our lives and tonight is extraordinary because the creative geniuses behind the band, Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus will be part of the celebrations in Hyde Park. Paying tribute to them are the musicians who played on the original Abba tracks, their musical director Anders Eljas, the BBC Concert Orchestra and a fantastic cast of artists from the worlds of rock, pop and musical theatre. Kylie Minogue heads a line up that includes Chaka Khan, The Feeling, Beth Nielsen Chapman, V V Brown and Nerina Pallot. Elaine Paige and Siobhan McCarthy re-create a moment from the original production of Chess; Kerry Ellis performs a song from Benny and Bjorn's latest stage musical, and the London Cast of Mamma Mia! deliver an all singing and dancing finale. Stellan Skarsgard and Sir Tim Rice join presenter Chris Evans as the entire company and Hyde Park audience say 'Thank You For The Music'!

Join Chris Evans and the crowds at Hyde Park to celebrate the music of ABBA.
