The Sutton Hoo Story

Archaeologist and historian Tom Plunkett celebrates the discovery 60 years ago of a 7th-century Saxon ship burial at the site in Suffolk called Sutton Hoo. The treasure-filled royal burial ship remains the most remarkable British archaeological find of the century, and its discovery, along with subsequent excavations at Sutton Hoo, changed the face of British archaeology.
