Counting Namibia's Cheetahs

Frauke Jensen reports on a wildlife research project set up by two German scientists with the aim of counting Namibia's cheetahs.

The country is believed to be home to the world's largest cheetah population, yet nobody really knows how many there are.

Counting these shy and elusive creatures is a difficult task, but the project is adopting a methodical approach, assisted by groups of volunteers who pay to spend a fortnight in the bush collecting the raw data.
