Description

SBH:The Manager of British Railways (Southern Region) interviewed on train cancellations and delays due to bad weather. Interviewer: Maureen O'Connor (SNF). From South-East.

PRE:De-icing trains were running all night but snowfall heavier than anticipated. Also frozen snow on windscreens affected drivers' vision - pays tribute to drivers. Over 1200 points have heaters but this only a part of total number. Conditions for home going commuters difficult this evening, but all possible efforts will be made. Sympathises with commuters faced with recent go-slow and now bad weather.
