19990722In a rare interview Robert Rauschenberg talks to Tim Marlow about his revolutionary career as a painter, sculptor, composer, photographer and choreographer. Rauschenberg's career began with collaborations with John Cage at Black Mountain College and exploded in the 50s, when he and Jasper Johns rose to prominence in the New York art world, which had previously been dominated by Pollock and De Koonig. The programme includes contributions from art dealer Leo Castelli, writer Calvin Tomkins and dancers Merce Cunningham and Trisha Brown.
