|20071226||The Story of Peter India.|
His kidnap in Aberdeen as a child was just the first drama in the life of Peter Williamson.
Shipped in 1743 as a slave to America, he was captured a second time by warrior tribesmen and again by French forces fighting the British. Free at last to sail home to Scotland, he returned to Aberdeen to sue for kidnap long before the abolition of slavery.
Soon known simply as Indian Peter, he ended his days a successful Edinburgh businessman, and asked to be buried in the costume of a chief.
