Selling Malcolm X

February marks the fortieth anniversary of the assassination of Malcolm X at the Audubon Ballroom in Harlem, New York.

But a few years ago the private papers, letters, speeches and diaries of Malcolm X turned up for sale on an internet auction site.

Tony Phillips travels to Harlem, New York to meet Ilyasah Shabazz, one of Malcolm X's six daughters to discover exactly how this came about and to read through some of the retrieved archive which offers rare insights into her father's complex and controversial life.
