Joan in Strabane had a baby last Halloween while listening to Talkback. Sean returns from illness. He felt 'as sick as a pig'. Not a parrot, or even a dog. William in Newtownabbey wrote half a limerick to mark the return. Geralyn in Omagh has finished it. Michael in Kilkeel is the first person Sean's ever heard of who saw the Ivy League in concert. It was in Newry Town Hall. There are free pints from Big Peter in the bottom bar tonight, to celebrate his lottery win. But where is the bottom bar? There's something wrong with Sean's ear.
Halloween was very different when Sean was a boy. 'We might have worn our coats inside out', he says.
Cotton Fields has only one verse in it but it lasts nearly three minutes.
Sean was stopped by a policeman because he was the only person who was halfway across a new pelican crossing when the red man was showing. A Ballymena policeman remembers going to a wake house in Belfast where there a fight going on in the front garden and in the front room while the coffin was lying on the floor with the corpse beside it. Sean's tooth fell out only a day after being fixed. Being left standing at the front door without being invited in. Billy thinks it because the house is untidy. When James Cagney wore a ten-gallon hat Humphrey Bogart thought he looked like a mushroom. Vincent the taxi driver would rather be called a mushroom than a turnip, which is what he has been called in the past. Mick McGuinness wants Sean to play some Halloween music. It's only a week away.
