Salome

A new version by Lizzie Hopley.

The myth of Salome and the dance of the seven veils began as a brief reference in the bible.

It was later popularised in Wilde's highly sexual rendering of the tale.

This new version focuses on the tense family drama at the centre of the myth.

Set on the brink of a new era - while a young carpenter is travelling across Israel propagating his new religion - this story revolves around a girl on the threshold of womanhood, who has been torn from her father and the world she knows, when her mother falls in love with Salome's Uncle, Herod Antipas.
