Velveteens surf the wave created by their first single all the way to west coast America.
Louise Wener and Roy Boulter's music drama returns as all-girl band Velveteens surf the wave created by their first single all the way from Top of The Pops to the west coast of America.
Music Directors - Brian Rawling and Marky Bates
Directed by Toby Swift
Starting as an idea from Radio 2's Head of Music, Jeff Smith, Queens of Noise explores the music industry in the days before the internet changed almost everything. And so was born Velveteens, an all-girl band ready and willing to fight their way to the top. Now signed to a major record label and with a single in the lower reaches of the charts, next on the agenda is the debut album and the first American tour. It's a challenge that would be rather easier if Rain hadn't just had an abortion, Beth wasn't in a drug-fuelled love affair with the lead singer of a rival band and Sylvie's mum wasn't on the verge of meltdown.
