Edith Bowman launches her new series with performances from Texas, Stornoway and Blue Rose Code, playing on the Quay Stage at BBC Pacific Quay's headquarters.

Blue Rose Code is the musical project of Ross Wilson. His current album, The Ballads of Peckham Rye, was nominated for the Scottish Album Of The Year Award and features such talents as Karine Polwart, who joins him on stage for the show.

Stornoway play songs from their new album Bonxie which takes inspiration from singer Brian Briggs love of birds - he's a Dr of Ornithology as well as a writer of folk-pop gems.

Texas play unique versions of some of their favourite songs from their 25 year career in a stripped back set which showcases Sharleen's amazing voice.

Performing on The Quay Stage this week are singer and multi-instrumentalist Alex Cornish from Dunbar, who'll be showcasing songs from his new album Beyond The Serenade. Also appearing are Zervas And Pepper, a harmonic folk-rock duo from Wales who bonded over a shared love of Crosby Stills Nash and Young - they'll be playing songs from their new album Abstract Heart.

Edith Bowman hosts another edition of The Quay Sessions. Her guests this week are up-and-coming country duo The Shires and Scots melody-laden group Linden.

Linden take their name from talented frontman Joe McAlinden, stalwart of the Scottish music scene. His latest album, Rest And Be Thankful, was recorded and produced with Edwyn Collins and perfectly showcases his ear for an uplifting melody.

The Shires are at the vanguard of the UK country music scene and their debut album Brave became the first homegrown country album to reach the Top 10 here.

Edith presents a special Christmas Day edition of The Quay Sessions with performances from The Silencers, King Creosote, White and The Cairn String Quartet.

The Silencers return to Glasgow to play a hit-laden set which is sure to bring some Celtic spirit to proceedings.

Scottish electro-punks White, who are hotly tipped by BBC Introducing, will be showcasing their songs alongside a festive classic.

Also performing will be singer-songwriter King Creosote as well as The Cairn String Quartet who will be playing a Christmas set full of favourites.
