A celebration of Leslie Phillips' illustrious career on the occasion of his eightieth birthday.
Leslie's been an actor for over seventy years and still retains a wide appeal with all age groups with roles which range from Falstaff at the RSC, to guest panellist on Never Mind the Buzzcocks. His catchphrases "Ding dong", "Helloooo", and "Left Hand Down a Bit", are part of the national language.
In this programme, Leslie will recall some of his favourite roles in film, in the West End, on television, and of course for Radio; from the golden age of radio comedy in The Navy Lark, to contemporary drama like Radio 4's Les Miserables.
Leslie is a great raconteur, and he'll introduce clips of some of the most memorable moments.
