PRE:In the street, Gray & Alpern comment on the fact people have to chain up their plant tubs to prevent their being stolen, amount of traffic & noise it makes. Alpern describes exterior of apartment building. Inside no. 1107 Fifth Avenue, Gray describes interior architecture & decoration. Alpern: history of the building. Shows Gray area that used to be an aviary. From window they can see roof garden on nearby brownstone building that boasts an ornamental cow. They discuss other buildings they can see; all buildings higher than 6 storeys have water towers, some visible, some hidden. Alpern loves way NY apartments make use of space.
