Linda Marshall Griffiths' love story told from two perspectives across five different encounters.

At the Glastonbury Festival and Scarlet is hiding from Joe. Joe has found her after years of searching and he is not about to give up now and walk away. It was love at first sight when Joe and Scarlet met but eighteen year old Joe was taking a motorbike around Africa and seventeen year old Scarlet wanted to be a drummer in a band; life took them in different directions. Now sixteen years later will their stories come together?

Starting at Glastonbury in present day the narrative moves back and forth in time through voice over to each of the five meetings between Joe and Scarlet.

The chronology of the meetings is: their first meeting in a park when they are teenagers, the night they fall in love, the night before Joe leaves to travel around Africa on a motorbike and Scarlet starts as the drummer in a band with Joe's best friend Sid. Four years later, Joe and Scarlet meet by chance on the London Underground, they visit the British Museum, Scarlet reveals she is now married to Sid and they have a child, the band is still going strong. Five years on from that meeting at Sid's funeral - they arrange to meet two years later. Two years later at Rievaulx Abbey, Scarlet waits with nine year old Freddie, Joe arrives too late, they fail to meet. Seven years from then, Joe has seen that Scarlet's band is playing at Glastonbury and has gone to find her.

Linda Marshall Griffiths brings the unexpected in the way that she tells this bittersweet love story. Through Joe and Scarlet's different versions of their story, the truth emerges. We understand that Joe and Scarlet truly love one another and are meant to be together despite everything that has happened. Will they finally have the courage to be together?
