Catherine and Sophia Singh, the daughters of the last Maharajah of Lahore, Duleep Singh, were brought up in Suffolk and LONDON as landed ENGLISH gentry.
Catherine has left ENGLAND to live in Germany with Lina, her lover, and Sophia is in LONDON campaigning for the Suffragette movement.
Sophia, a committed Suffragist, has recently begun to rediscover her Sikh heritage which worries her sister Catherine, living in Germany.
It's now 1937 and Catherine has been living in Germany with Lina, her lover, but now Hitler is in power and decisions have to be made.
It is 1948.
Catherine has died, and Sophia is very ill.
