Deep in the Scottish glens the Women's Timber Corps was a rich mix of young women: from society debs to hairdressers. The war demand for timber was insatiable - for pit props, telegraph poles and even for coffins. Although by day the work was hard, at night they danced and dated. But at the end of the war 'The Lumberjills' were bitterly disappointed to find their efforts were unrecognised. Rosalind Elder was so determined to do her bit in the war she lied about her age to join. Nearly sixty years after leaving Scotland for Canada, Rosalind returns to the woods. Edi Stark joins her and fellow Lumberjill Bony Macadam, to uncover memories and share nostalgia.
