On the 50th anniversary of the Coronation, Julian Glover, Isla Blair and Stefan Bednarczyk perform poems from Eleanor and Herbert Farjeon's classic anthology, Kings And Queens, which contains a brief poetic portrait, sketch or caricature of almost every monarch from William the Conqueror to George VI. The performances were recorded before an audience at the Jermyn Street Theatre. The programme also features Anne Harvey, Eleanor Farjeon's literary executor, who traces the book's story and talks to some of the people who have been inspired by the work.
