Homer Today

When Tippett started to write his opera `King Priam' in 1958, he based his libretto on Homer. Does this work represent one of the last vestiges of interest in this ancient author, or will coming ages reread and reinvent his work as we have been doing for two millennia? Oliver Taplin investigates the continuing and vigorous response of contemporary artists to Homer's work.
