Paul Gambaccini is the only broadcaster who has presented regular programmes on Radios 1, 2, 3 and 4. This year marks his fortieth anniversary in British broadcasting, since his arrival at Radio 1 in 1973 from American college radio and Rolling Stone magazine.

In a series of special shows, recorded with an audience, Paul and invited guests look back at his long career, with extracts from some of his all-time favourite interviews. The programmes cover interviews with his pop music heroes, as well as with major figures from the world of theatre, cinema and comedy, conducted during his time as a presenter and interviewer on arts programmes such as Kaleidoscope.

Joining Paul in the studio for the first in the series are music legends Elton John and Joan Armatrading, lyricist Tim Rice, writer and former Python Michael Palin, and fellow music broadcaster Bob Harris.
