In the first of a series of documentaries marking the BBC's 75th anniversary, Sir David Attenborough introduces the reminiscences of a key player in the corporation's annals.

Distinguished war correspondent Frank Gillard became director of Sound Broadcasting where he invented `Any Questions?' and axed `Children's Hour'.

He also established BBC local radio and set up Radio 1 and 2 in response to the pirate stations.
