Description

SBH:An actor describes his experiences touring Scotland as part of the theatre group '7:84'.

Producer: Fiona Couper.

PRE:Early experience of being taken to see "the penny geggies" when a child in Northern Scotland.

Didn't matter that they were bad - was an occasion for them just to be there.

Describes Avonglen community centre where is about to act in Scotland - play set in India which makes life more difficult.

People come from miles around to see the play - much more appreciative audience but still demand high standards.

Usually meet the audience after the show & are told whether it's good or bad.

Build up of touring circuits in the Highlands - has led to new style of theatre.

Believes touring gives an exhilarating freedom.
