ڀna Monaghan is a harper, composer, and sound artist whose recent work has combined traditional music with bronze sculpture, sound art and movement sensors.

Katharine Philippa is a singular and poetic voice as a singer-songwriter, accompanying herself on piano, and her songs are 'full of sparse, graceful, elegantly pitched wonder.' (Irish Times)

Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble is a virtuoso new music group with cutting-edge repertoire. They will play music by local composers Edward Zatriqi and Greg Caffrey.

Guitarist C Joynes has been described as 'an inheritor to Davy Graham' and his work incorporates a wide range of styles from North and West African music to English folk and contemporary classical. Pete Um is a maverick 'tape-poet', a fixture in the Cambridge experimental scene whose unusual miniatures combine voice and electronic sounds from MiniDisc player. Finally we have ghostly atmospherics from the violin and voice of Rachel Watkins, founder member of psych folk group Fuzzy Lights.

Tonight, Exposure Cardiff comes from the Chapter Arts Centre in the Canton area of Cardiff. Performances from three contrasting acts, including Farm Hand with psychedelic lo-fi songs, Deaf Pictures playing electric guitar and violin duos, and Swansea Laptop Orchestra bringing a unique physicality to electronic music.

Night Blossoms20180426Verity Sharp introduces sets by three leading lights of Japanese experimental music in this London edition curated by Late Junction's Nick Luscombe and recorded at Spiritland in Kings Cross as part of BBC Radio 3's Night Blossoms season. Tomoko Sauvage uses water-filled porcelain bowls and hydrophones for her electro-acoustic compositions; Kyoto-born, Berlin-based Midori Hirano aka MimiCof presents music from her album Moon Synch, created with the Buchla analogue modular synthesizer during her residency at the Electronic Music Studio in Stockholm; and Hatis Noit, the latest signing to Erased Tapes, is a unique, self-taught solo vocal performer, originally from the northern island of Hokkaido and now living in London. Her influences range from traditional Japanese gagaku and Western opera to avant-garde and contemporary pop vocalists.
