Daydream Believers, written by, and starring, David Mitchell and Robert Webb, follows the parallel stories of flatmates, tetchy Ray and aimless Colin, and the mighty alien empire of Baron Amstrad and his hi-tech android, Info.
Ray (Mitchell) writes popular science-fiction stories, but, if he doesn't spend at least a week writing each novel, the quality suffers.
Consequently, all the pointless interruptions from his lodger, Colin (Webb), would put Ray off if he didn't find ingenious ways of incorporating their conversations into the thrilling space adventures of hard-working Baron Amstrad and his constantly-interrupting robot companion, Info (also played by Mitchell and Webb).
David Mitchell and Robert Webb are the stars of That Mitchell And Webb Sound (BBC Radio 4), That Mitchell And Webb Look (BBC Two), Peep Show (Channel 4) and those computer ads (every bus shelter in the land).
Colin starts attending ante-natal classes in the hope of finding a girlfriend, and Colin and Ray's kitchen is suddenly infested with ants.
Meanwhile, in the infinite reaches of space, Baron Amstrad is feeling a bit broody, and the galaxy is suddenly invaded by ruthless alien hordes.
