Coral reefs are vital to Pacific islanders, providing food, protecting their villages from storms and - in some places - creating the islands themselves.

But natural disasters, pollution and over fishing have destroyed much of the coral in the south pacific.

Euan Mcilwraith reports from the Coral Coast of Fiji where modern science and ancient tradition have joined forces to restore the reefs and regenerate the fish stocks.
