Iain Burnside presents the second of two programmes marking the 150th anniversary of the deaths of composer Robert Schumann and poet Heinrich Heine.
Including a specially-commissioned drama by Hattie Naylor starring Daniel Goode and Ben Crowe as composer and poet respectively, with Alison Pettitt as Schumann's wife Clara, contributions from acclaimed Schumann interpreters Ian Bostridge and Graham Johnson, discussion with studio guests Judith Chernaik and John Deathridge and a selection of settings of Heine by composers other than Schumann introduced by Susan Youens.
