Boubil And Schonberg's Les Miserables

On October 8th 1985, Les MisÚrables opened at the Barbican Theatre, London, and a new chapter in musical theatre began. Based on the novel by Victor Hugo, Les MisÚrables by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, with lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, has since travelled the globe winning many major awards including 8 Tonys.

To celebrate both the 21st Anniversary of this classic musical and the 60th birthday of producer and impresario Cameron Mackintosh, a unique, specially adapted concert version of the show has been recorded at The Mermaid in London.

Stephen Brooker conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra, and is joined on stage by the 2006 Les MisÚrables London Cast, and narrator Anthony Andrews.
