The Big Fun Show

Sketch series featuring a pre-stardom Paul Merton and his regular writing partner, John Irwin, plus Josie Lawrence, Tony Hawkes, Neil Mullarkey and Julian Clary, who was likewise yet to ascend to the status of a national icon.  Regular features included the activities of the Timid Twins, songs provided by Hawkes, and a set-piece finale to each show with Clary as the much-anticipated new station sergeant, pirate captain, alien invader or whatever.
