The Beatles - Love

Robert Lindsay presents a documentary about the new Beatles album Love, which was released in November and features new versions of the group's songs reworked by the original producer George Martin and his son Giles.

Father and son discuss their innovative work creating the soundtrack for Love and demonstrate at the mixing desk how three songs were reconstructed by separating out and playing the different elements.

Including comments about the new versions from Paul Mccartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, Yoko Ono and the head of the Beatles' company Apple Neil Aspinall.

Every musical sound on the Love album was taken from the original Beatles session tapes - with one exception.

When it was decided that George Harrison's acoustic demo version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps would be featured in the Las Vegas show, George Martin was asked to compose a string arrangement to be added to the song.

The programme features footage from that historic strings session recorded earlier this year.
