On May 4th 1940, The Sadler's Wells Ballet Company embarked on a goodwill tour of The Hague but within days found themselves in the midst of a German invasion.

Annabel Farjeon, a 21 year old ballet member kept a journal creating a unique perspective of the original Sadler's Wells Troupe.

The fascinating programme includes portraits of some of the Ballet's most celebrated characters including Dame Margot Fonteyn, Fredrick Ashton, Robert Helpmann and Ninette De Valois.

Also, there are memories from original members of the tour and commentary from David Bintley, Director of the Birmingham Royal Ballet.
